Christina Lam Becomes First Chinese American Woman to Compete in IMSA Endurance Series

This year the roar of engines signals more than just competition—it marks a historic milestone for women and diversity in motorsports. The National Center of Women’s Innovations proudly kicks off its Women, Start Your Engines as engineer-turned-racer Christina Lam becomes the first Chinese American female driver to compete in NASCAR’s IMSA endurance races. Christina will have the NCWI’s logo on her car and her racing suit as she roars around the IMSA tracks. She will also be meeting with young people, especially girls, prior to the races to give them encouragement and a hands-on opportunity to step out of their comfort zone and consider STEM fields and racing, just as Christina has.

The Women Driving Change banner, recognizing some key women innovators helping racing, will be proudly flying. Join us as we salute Christina and she pursues her mission to slay her competitors!

But it’s more than just speed—Christina is part of the growing Women Driving Change movement. She brings grit, grace, and groundbreaking representation to a sport long dominated by men. And she’s not just racing—she’s inspiring.

Christina’s race car and suit will proudly display the NCWI logo, and our banner will wave alongside cheering fans—reminding the world that innovation isn’t just about invention, but about who we lift up and celebrate.

Together, we change the world —one lap, one barrier, one girl at a time.
